Nature’s Candies – What to Do with a Handful of Berries?

Welcome back! As everyone returned to work or school after a summer holiday, autumn is pampering us with fantastic, sunny weather and natural, delicious goods. We step into the fall with bags full of mushrooms, vegetables bigger than they usually are, fruits that make us drool, and – of course – berries, which we just cannot get enough of! It is so fun to pick wild strawberries and put them on a bent, eat blueberries with natural milk, put raspberries on your fingers while pretending that you are Amelie from Montmartre. For many people – and members of our team – various berries symbolize late summer and early autumn when we can eat a handful of them for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Still, we would not have tasted all the flavours at that time! However, all the fun disappears when there are too many berries... We do not know what to do with them so that we may enjoy incredible tastes and vitamins all year round, and not just while the berries are still ripening?

Berries – a Source of Well-being

Before we start talking about berry preservation, it is necessary to mention at least a bit of why we need to eat berries all year round and not just when we can freshly pick them ourselves. Here we will not talk about buying berries in your local supermarket in the middle of winter. Although you can buy a variety of fresh products whenever you want them, it is healthier for our body to eat berries picked during their ripening season or the ones that are preserved to keep their nutrients.

During their ripening season, the berries are the juiciest and have the most beneficial nutritional substances. Strawberries are a natural source of Vitamin C, while blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries have one of the highest percentages of antioxidants; they have similar amounts of antioxidants as pomegranate. Medical studies have also shown that blueberries help fight heart disease and lower blood cholesterol. Scientists have also found that certain berries can help fight cancer. For some experimental participants, eating a certain number of freeze-dried raspberries every day, their cancer numbers improved over time.

In general, all berries are low in calories and high in fibre, so they are suitable for people with dietary restrictions or who just want to eat healthier and tastier. Berries can also make our skin glow! There are certain substances in berries that help fight enzymes that break down collagen. This protein is responsible for the elasticity of our skin. If we put all the pros in one place, we really would not find a reason to stay away from eating berries!

How to Preserve Berries’ Nutritional Value?

Suppose you ask your mom or grandma, as well as browse some internet blogs. In that case, you will easily find many tips and recipes that will allow you to preserve the nutritional value of berries all year round. One of the best ways is to freeze-dry berries, also known as lyophilization. Research has shown that freeze-dried berries have close to 90% of their fresh nutritional value, making them equivalent to eating freshly picked berries.

Raspberries or sliced strawberries are especially popular in this way. Still, the process requires a particular freezing machine, which can be quite an investment. Lyophilization is usually done by certain companies. You can bring fresh berries and, after a few days, take back the little freeze-dried delicacies. Freeze-dried berries will be a great snack for those who want something sweet and healthy, as well as an excellent condiment for cakes or pastries.

A slightly more straightforward and lovely way to preserve the nutritional value of berries is freezing, which does not require any special equipment apart from your freezer. Although the nutritional properties of this method have long been debated, it has been shown that frozen berries retain their nutritional value and are as healthy as fresh ones.

Frozen berries are quite easy to use in various recipes, whether baking cakes, brewing tea, or making compotes. However, the most popular way is, without a doubt – the preparation of smoothies and cocktails! This way is also our favourite, but we don’t forget to add a little CBD Oil Drops – then we can enjoy both the taste of the berries and the benefits from CBD! The best part of this berry preservation method is that it is suitable for all berries – strawberries, raspberries, currants, blackberries, blueberries, cherries, wild strawberries or whatever you want!

Our team love natural fruit teas – it is an excellent source of vitamins, and the tea also warms us up on dark, long, autumn or winter evenings. However, in such weather, no one really does want to go to the store and buy fresh berries, so in such cases, it is handy to have some homemade berry jams in your pantry. When there are more berries than you can eat, you can always cook natural jams, which, when tightly closed, can be stored up until the next berry ripening season.

In a large pot, put berries together with sugar, which allows the jams to harden and get that jelly texture, wait for the mix to come to a boil, and pour it into nice little jars. We should warn you that such recipes can contain a lot of sugar, so look for other recipes if you are the opposite of a sweet tooth. Whereas sugar enhances the sweetness of berries, the lack of it reduces the shelf life of the jams. It turns out that sugar is added to jams also because it absorbs moisture and prevents the spread of bacteria. Therefore, before eating the jam, which is less sweet, be sure to check the jar for the mould!

Berries are called the nature's candies for a reason – it is a source of natural sugar that can be eaten with no shame regardless of the time of the day. However, there is a way to turn berries into real-life sweets, but we warn you in advance that this recipe will require a lot of sugar. Be sure to skip this part of the blog if you have enough sweetness in your life already! Candied berries are made by bringing a sugar and water mix to a boil, which turns into a syrup. Then berries are dipped into it one by one and later sprinkled with some powdered sugar. It's true – candied berries are a sugar lover's dream. Still, different sources have different opinions on how long can candied berries be stored. Before eating them, be sure to inspect candied berries for mould, and always keep them in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

As we are finished with this blog, we can guarantee you will be in a rush to preserve all the berries by freezing, boiling, or drying them. On the other hand, we put the berries in our newest product – CBD Blueberry Gummies Full Spectrum! Natural gummies are perfect for the beginning of the fall and all year round! From now on, you can purchase these deliciously healthy gummies in even more convenient packaging.

Too long, didn’t read? Berries are nature’s candies, but they all have one problem – short ripening season. We today introduced you to four different ways to preserve berries’ nutritional value up until the following season. Choose freeze-dried, frozen, candied berries, or start making natural homemade jams right away!

How to Pack Beauty? – Your Cosmetics’ Bag Travels with You

You may have planned your whole life carefully, but the best things happen spontaneously. For example, a holiday, a short trip of just a few days to a lovely resort, or a weekend getaway to nature. Holidays, wherever adventure winds may take you, require a degree of preparation, quick thinking, and anticipation. We are talking about something you would not do without on many of your trips – your personal cosmetic’s bag, which holds your whole life and much more. When travelling light, you can take only a minimal number of personal belongings, including cosmetics, so trying to pack the entire daily beauty routine into a tiny bag is a real headache.

What Exactly is in Our Cosmetics’ Bags?

We are all aware that everyday cosmetics and hygiene products are most worth buying in large quantities. This, however, means large bottles of products that are difficult to fit onto the bathroom shelf or in drawers. We will not even begin to talk about packing it all for your trip – one large bottle may find its place in your suitcase, but not five or even more products! Such reality shines a different light on a few things.

Firstly, we are used to having products for all occasions. Let's look at any bathroom or any cosmetic's bag. We will see many similar products, which formulas differ in one or two ingredients. Since we do not go too deep into what is written in small print, we often buy products that we don't really need. Still, the different name on the product's packaging indicates that we don't have it our arsenal of beauty yet. As we want to prepare for this war as best as possible, we usually buy everything we lay our eyes on.

Secondly, the world’s famous cosmetic brands thrive on such behaviour. You may have seen several products of the same line in the store more than once. For example, shampoo, conditioner, and hair masks are designed to work together and supposedly bring fabulous results. Producing different product lines is just a cheap marketing and product design trick that forces customers to buy more than they really need. It creates a sense of urgency and foreshadows the best results possible, which do not work great with our logical thinking.

To sum up – we have tones of unnecessary products in our cosmetic’s bags. We probably don’t even need to add that the more products we have, the harder it is to fit them in one cosmetic bag or say goodbye to them for at least a few days that you will spend away from home.

What Our Cosmetic’s Bags Actually Need?

Whether you’re at home or going on holiday, just like with clothes, we have stuff we don’t need at all and miss things that we don’t intentionally have with us at that time. To avoid this, we advise you to make a list of cosmetic and beauty products and consider what you are using. Eliminate whatever just collects dust on the shelf and is over its expiration date. We mostly have but do not use gifted cosmetics and beauty products, especially ones that require a lot of time daily to operate correctly.

During trips, just as after a hard day’s work, no one really wants to spend long hours in front of a mirror, so here wins a quick and convenient beauty and hygiene routine. It usually consists of basic yet essential things – hair, skin, oral care products, for example, shampoo, shower gel, various creams, toothpaste, and brush. We will not include multiple serums, ampoules, masks, or anything like that in this super shortlist because every ordinary person does not use them.

To prepare for all life adventures, just a few simple products are enough. To regain strength and maintain your beauty levels every day, you do not need to carry a few pounds worth of products everywhere you go. When travelling, it is not necessary to fit a lifetime of cosmetic products in one tiny cosmetic’s bag. However, probably every person has tried to do so without even using many things once.

How Can We Change Some Products?

Some things are simply irreplaceable, but you can discover an even better alternative to make your life and daily beauty routine easier by searching more closely. Although this is not yet a popular option, some brands sell their products in different forms. This means that you can buy two or even three different types of the same product in brands’ online stores, for example, liquid shampoo, spray shampoo, and hard shampoo. Even though the first two examples still reach consumers in bottles (glass, plastic, or metal), the third option is usually packaged in paper packaging. The hard shampoo is friendlier for the environment and takes up less space in our bathrooms and cosmetic bags. Moreover, hard shampoo usually lasts for a more extended period than liquid shampoo.

Another thing worth mentioning is products with universal purpose. While men can quite often find one bottle that will contain shampoo or shower gel and hair conditioner, women are often forced by manufacturers to buy a greater number of different products. It hurts our wallets and the environment, and it also requires a lot of space. Universal products like shampoo + conditioner or shower gel + body lotion helps to save space not only daily but also on trips.

How to Fit EVERYTHING?

Once you have decided what to take with you on the trip, it is time to try and fit everything in one tiny little cosmetic’s bag – and this is where the fun begins. Of course, it depends on the size of your cosmetic bag whether you will fit products to be your partners in crime on trips and adventures. At this point, we advise you to choose the optimal size cosmetic bag according to your travel style. You will probably be able to take more cosmetic products when travelling by car. On a plane with only hand luggage, you are guaranteed not to be able to do so; otherwise, you will only be restricting yourself. Don’t be afraid to buy a new cosmetic’s bag of a different size every few years because it is unnecessary to live a life with only one cosmetic bag.

Before buying a new cosmetic’s bag or just packing it for a trip, think about your beauty and hygiene need at that time. If you stay longer in one place, you may choose cosmetic bags with a zipper. On arrival at the place, you can conveniently unpack everything onto the cosmetics’ table. If you choose a more active holiday and spend every night at a different location or perhaps in nature, choose hanging cosmetic bags with clear compartments. You will always see all the necessary products immediately.

It is essential to responsibly plan the sizes of the cosmetics you take on your trip. We will not tell you the news if we mention that the size of one bottle of cosmetics cannot exceed 100 ml when travelling by place. Still, you will need even less product if travelling for just a couple days. No matter how we like it, travelling does not last forever, so it’s important not to overload ourselves with too many things, including cosmetics. It is always possible to buy samples as almost every popular product always offers a smaller, travelling-friendly version. Besides, the hotels themselves offer the most necessary cosmetics, which all guests find in their rooms and often take home with them. So, think about whether something is worth taking if you will be given it for free.

Another great way to save space in your beauty bag is to share hygiene products with your partner, roommate, or travel friend. Men’s shower gel is perfect for women and vice versa, so on the trip, you will need to take not two bottles of a specific product, but only one.

It is also convenient to be prepared in advance – pack your essential cosmetic bag and take it with you everywhere, keeping it in your car. This can often save you from the inconvenience of suddenly staying overnight with friends or going on a spontaneous holiday.

However, often you start planning your essential cosmetic bag, you may not even know where to start. We have thought of you and created products that help ensure order in your cosmetic bag and your daily routine. Recently we started selling three different bundles so that everyone can find the most suitable option for themselves. We advise you to choose products as versatile as possible and packed in small packaging; take samples of your already loved products with you! For unexpected trips, always have prepared a cosmetic bag with your essentials.

Love for Food – How Our Eating Habits Can Both Help and Hurt?

Could you have thought that half a year would pass so quickly? We didn’t even notice, and the month of June has just ended. For some, it was a tense period of studying and exams; for others, it was an opportunity to complete essential tasks and make new business deals, while others could use that time to prepare for the upcoming holiday season slowly. We will set aside July and August for holidays and natural gifts to anticipate events ahead of time. We will talk about how to have a safe and fun holiday in nature and how to create a holiday for your pets. We will also have some fun conversations for you to read with people who have successfully incorporated cannabis products into their daily lives. It is worth the wait, and while waiting, it is worth visiting our online store, where you will see more news this summer.

--

Strangely enough, summer for many people starts as early as winter. You ask, how is this even possible? Before the New Year, we promise to start exercising, move more, give up bad habits and thus prepare our body (and soul) for the upcoming hot season of the year. In the summer, we take off our clothes and enjoy time spent at lakes, sea, river or calmly swimming in a pool, sunbathing in the sun, and boldly (or not) demonstrating our bodies. One action that requires most of our attention before summer begins is nutrition.

A healthy and balanced diet helps maintain a good appearance and strengthens our bodies from within. No matter how positive the sentence you just read sounds, nutrition also can become our biggest problem. Nevertheless, this will not be the main topic of this blog today. We will dedicate this text to get you acquainted with three different diets – vegetarianism, veganism, and raw food. The rapidly growing diets are popular among fashionable youth, but how stylish are the reasons behind their choices?

What Harm does Human Eating Habits do to Nature (and Us)?

We will not be surprising anyone saying that not only impressive amounts of plastic waste but also many food wastes going to landfills worldwide every year. The reality is quite painful, but the statistics are even more shocking: we throw around 1.3 billion tonnes of food waste a year. The numbers remain numbers that do not usually have any long-term impact on people and their consumptions habits. However, it is particularly worth considering that this amount of food waste accounts for a third of all food stocks grown and produced in the world. We must add that this costs the world economy almost one trillion dollars every year. From an economic perspective alone, these numbers are enormous, but such a loss is more detrimental to the well-being of our planet and our health than to our wallets.

Let’s take a closer look at what foods are most often thrown away and how much such consumptions habits cost us? According to international informational sources, people are most likely to throw away fish products and seafood, cereals, legumes, meat, and dairy products. We could go on with this list, but here we can already spot some critical aspects. We are depleting the oceans by throwing away fish and seafood; we are wasting water by growing vegetables that no one needs. By throwing away beef and dairy products, we contribute to the growing amount of methane gas depleting the Ozone layer. On top of all that, we are casually looking at the efforts of those people for whom food growing is their primary source of livelihood.

Every day and every year, we need to talk more and more loudly about the change in food consumption habits and that we subconsciously choose to consume foods that are detrimental to our health. Research has shown that people who eat red meat are more likely to suffer from diabetes, have cardiovascular problems, and certain types of cancer. An even more significant number of scientific articles conclude that consuming fatty foods and meals significantly increases early deaths and shorten life expectancy. Even though food deprivation affects close to one billion people globally, those who have too much food suffer as well – such people from obesity and various diseases.

To help both themselves and the planet, every year, more and more people choose to change their eating habits radically, give up meat, fish, dairy products or eat what is not heat-treated.

Vegetarian Diet

Vegetarianism is one of the most popular dietary practices adopted by nearly 10 per cent of the world’s population. While India is considered the most vegetarian country, one of the main reasons is its religious beliefs (Hindus consider cows to be a sacred symbol of life, thus, protecting it). Other reasons include ethical convictions and cultural, aesthetic, ecological, economic, political, taste and health reasons. For example, people may abandon eating any meat, including fish, poultry, crustaceans, and slaughter by-products because they do not find meat tasty or believe animals are equal to humans and have a soul. There are several different types of vegetarians, as some people choose to eliminate eggs from their diets and others do not. However, most vegetarianism cases include people giving up any animal-related products, for example, choosing eco-leather clothing, not wearing accessories made from animal horns, etc.

Vegan Diet

Veganism is a more diet restrictive version of vegetarianism; while people with a later diet can still have a glass of cow’s milk or eat cheese, vegans opt-out for alternatives such as soy milk, coconut milk, or tofu. As said, vegans exclude any animal-related food from their diet as they, for example, consider milking a cow equal to doing injustice to an animal and hurting it. A vegan diet includes fruits and vegetables, legumes, nuts and seeds, whole grain products, already mentioned dairy alternatives and vegetable oils. The major downside of a vegan diet is that the lack of fatty acids found in fish consumption can lead to depression and other psychological and emotional problems. However, the vegan diet is still considered healthier than eating meat.

Raw Food Diet

While vegetarianism and veganism exclude meat, fish, dairy and eggs, raw food diet allows eating almost everything if food’s temperature does not go above a certain number of degrees. Eating unpasteurized and raw foods such as meats is dangerous; therefore, raw food diet mainly includes fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and sprouted grains. Despite many different reasons behind vegetarians and vegans’ decisions to eliminate meat and animal-related products from their diet, the raw food diet’s main rules are based on studies stating that such a diet allows people to consume more nutrients than processed and cooked food. Sticking to raw food diet does not mean you only get to eat raw fruits and vegetables as such dietary restrictions include blending and dehydrating foods to prepare them for eating. Even though such a diet sounds very simple to follow, it can be a burden to your wallet as organic foods tend to cost more than regular groceries.

A change in your diet is an important decision to make; thus, it should not be made in a hurry. While for some people, vegetarianism, veganism, and raw food diet is a way to make a statement and contribute to the conservation of the planet themselves, others should only make such decisions after a thorough chat with their nutritionist or family practitioner.

Too long, didn’t read? The world suffers from human eating habits: impressive amounts of food are thrown away every year, and things we eat often harms our health. To help themselves and the planet, every year, more and more people become vegetarians, vegans, or choose to eat only raw food. By giving up meat, dairy products, fish, etc., their diet mainly consists of vegetables, fruits, nuts, and whole grains. At the same time, various food substitutes are used to maintain vital body functions and obtain all the necessary nutrients.

Meet our Future – New Products and Healthy Mindset

We knew from the beginning what we are aiming for when creating Biomedicanna – we want to introduce as many people as possible to the natural benefits of hemp. Our CEO Rokas talked about it quite extensively, and at the beginning of the month, we also talked about how this noble goal was born and turned into a fast-growing company. No matter how large a community of people gather under the name of Biomedicanna and are already in love with our products, we feel obliged to once again introduce everyone to the power that lies within a single drop. We are not standing still and are constantly improving the already familiar formulas to you; we are regularly adding new products to our store and developing new ways to introduce hemp products into your daily routine. As this month ends, today we will tell you about our plans and what should you be waiting for in the upcoming weeks.

A Drop of Pure Power and a Little Bit More

CBD Oil Drops were the very first products to appear in our shop. Helping to combat depression, anxiety, reducing pain, and improving sleep quality, CBD Oil Drops were and still are an absolute bestseller. As with all our products, these CBD Oil Drops were with the allowed rate of THC, so our other goal was to release Drops that would be completely THC free! We did it a few months ago, and CBG Oil Drops will hit the market very soon. CBG, short for Cannabigerol, is a mother cannabinoid with slightly more potency than CBD. Like other Oil Drops, these will be available at several different concentration levels. Special discounts will accompany the release of CBG Oil Drops, so do not miss out on the first purchase of a new hemp wellness product.

Sweet Yet Healthy Temptation

Cannabinoids have a variety of positive effect on our physical and emotional health due to their unique relationship with the endocannabinoid system in our bodies. It only proves that CBD and other cannabinoids are a versatile way to enrich ourselves with organic vitamins and natural substances. One great way to feel the benefits of CBD is the edibles that will also appear in our store in early summer. We’ve been waiting for that day for quite some time now, but we know it’s very worth the wait for the best thing. CBG Gummies will come at a friendly price and excellent blueberry taste and will allow you to enjoy the power of CBD while also enjoying natural sweet flavours. More information on this product release to follow soon, but we can already promise that the wait for CBD Gummies will be more than rewarding.

Immerse Yourself in Pleasure

In our store, you can currently find three types of CBD Cosmetics: Silk Balm, Cooling Gel, and Face & Body Cream. The sales of the latter product just have broken all the sales seconds, and we are quick to order new batches to satisfy the needs of our loyal fans. One of the reasons for their amazing reactions is the universal use of all the cosmetics we sell, which not only save customers money but also help reduce packaging pollution. Shortly, we aim to expand the range of cosmetic products available further and introduce you to new ways to help your skin with CBD.

More Than Products

Without any doubts, our everyday tasks include much more than just products. Already and shortly, we are making slight changes in how we communicate wellness messages to you. We have already included TL:DR section in our blogs, saving you time and getting the same news as reading the entire length. Also, be prepared to see the faces of Biomedicanna on our social media channels. In reality, a talented team here works to fulfil one goal, so everyone puts themselves to work all 120 per cent. We have already mentioned that our group consisted of just a few people initially, and now it has become international. We understand this as a sign of success, and on behalf of the whole team, we thank you – we will not disappoint you, and we will tomorrow’s challenges stronger than ever before.

Although we are still a very young company, we know that quality lies in details and sincerity. We offer our customers only the highest quality products and friendly service on every issue. We are always open to your suggestions and opinions, tips and feedback, and we are now giving discounts on other products for it—more information at the time of purchase. We still have many ideas in our minds that we plan to turn into reality sooner or later, so summer will be a fascinating time!

Too long, didn't read? Soon we will introduce three new products to our shop. CBG Oil Drops will come just in time for the beginning of summer, followed by CBD Blueberry Gummies shortly after! The third new release will be from a category of CBD Cosmetics, but that is all we can say to you today! Be patient and grateful for what nature gives us.

Meet our Brand - Unique Approach to Healthier Living

Over a year ago, we started a brand you know now. Since then, we have successfully expanded our team from several people and have become an international company. Uniting many different souls, we all share a passion for a healthier life. We are more than excited to be brought together a large community of people who admire and value nature and hemp powers and want to lead a more sustainable lifestyle. We dedicated the entire month of May to introduce you to our brand, the products, and the team which drives Biomedicanna and the love for hemp wellness forward. Today we will tell you all about our unique and nature-friendly approaches to cosmetics and other goods.

--

Those who have with us all along, and those who have joined this fantastic community recently, should have noticed that we often repeat certain phrases on our blog and social media. We are dependent on nature, so its suffering also affects our quality of life. We are constantly looking for ways to help nature and ourselves; therefore, we emphasize sustainability, environmental friendliness, natural and organic materials and products that meet only the highest standards.

Being honest, you have probably heard these words from many different businesses; however, we cannot be compared to others. In our 50th blog, we will look at the five most important aspects and features of Biomedicanna that set us apart and beyond other brands.

Only the Best

One of the several reasons we started this company was that we were not satisfied with the quality of similar goods. As individuals, who want to live healthier, we paid a lot of our attention to what we were putting in our bodies and skin. If you decide to closely read at least some of the labels of beauty and wellbeing products you own and use every day, you probably would be surprised about the number of strange ingredients and various additives found there. Besides, the origin of most of the ingredients was unclear.

Since day one, we promised ourselves to provide customers only with products made from materials grown in certified farms following responsible practices. Using the best seeds, monitoring their growth and applying the most innovative methods, we have achieved outstanding results, yet we always strive for even higher levels of perfection. Having already invested a lot of our resources into research, we seek to improve the quality of manufacturing processes and products. The highest quality is our top priority making thousands of people all over the world healthier and happier while at the same time working tirelessly to offer them products we would not be afraid to use and recommend.

Responsibility to Life

Being a relatively young company does not stop us from seeing how human-made objects and processes change the appearance of nature. With billions of tons of unrecyclable waste dumped in landfills, and products and practices themselves hurting the living world, every little step towards the goal of a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable living counts. Every year we experience more and more negative changes; therefore, we must minimize them and return the environment and climate to their former state.

We started the brand already knowing how vital sustainable practices would be in our journey of introducing society to the benefits of hemp. Today, we are the company for which this goal has become one of their main driving forces. Eco-friendly ideas are inseparable both from the company’s activities and our individual lives, and for this reason, we all feel a deep connection with our surroundings. Starting with tiny steps, we now make a substantial positive impact on the environment. We dared to resist the standard practices and adopt more responsible approaches despite being less popular. We have a strong opinion about veganism and animal cruelty; thus, we dedicated our work to live in synergy with flora and fauna and defend those who cannot protect themselves.

The Mission to Care for All

We all probably noticed how many products everyone has to consume to take proper care of ourselves, both internally and externally. On the one hand, the number of products shows how seriously we take our health and well-being. Still, from a different perspective, such everyday habits result in even bigger amounts of waste polluting our planet. Considering how many various chemicals are put into each little bottle of personal and home care products, we all should be appalled by what we put into our bodies and what later enters the drinking waters and soil. Besides, even more harmful substances get released into the air whilst manufacturing the mentioned care products.

Once forced by society to take care of themselves by any means possible, more and more people nowadays turn to nature and choose products that are friendly not only to man but also to the planet. After experiencing the same problems, we knew we had to be more innovative and tackle them differently. We set ourselves the goal of combining nature and man in one product, which we achieved by offering customers products made especially for this reason. Now we see, there is no better way to immerse ourselves into harmony than maintaining high standards and using the most precious materials, and carefully monitoring the manufacturing process. Keeping up with modern technologies and seeing the actual value of organic resources helps us deliver products that unite both nature and man.

Powerful Equals Raw

We each want only the best for ourselves and our loved ones, but sometimes, the worst things hide behind an innocent appearance. If we look more closely at every little thing we consume, we would be surprised by the number of processing it takes for that thing even to become consumable. Most of the time, it means we are consuming hurtful substances and unnecessary additives, which make us even more sick, unhealthy, and do not benefit our physical and emotional wellbeing.

From the very beginning, we knew our community would deserve the best, and we saw only one way to achieve – by introducing thousands of people to the hemp. Yet, some introductions cannot be comparable to one another. Therefore, we manufacture and sell only the purest and most potent products, which convey the power of hemp and its beneficial properties. Maybe hemp power is not that tasty as one may expect, but we are proud to bring out its two best features – raw and realness. With many more new product ideas in our minds, we know we would never leave the mentioned aspect behind our backs.

Giving Answers

Before discovering the hemp, we many times felt like we just hit the wall. We are now surprised at how little information was available a decade or several years ago regarding hemp, its components, their properties, and let’s not start talking about growing or manufacturing processes. What now to us feels like a piece of obvious information is still very unfamiliar to thousands of people, and we all probably know what the ‘unknown’ brings. It triggers our fear, and we surround ourselves with stereotypes, which resist us from experiencing never felt before senses.

We stepped into the market with higher quality products offering them at affordable prices, yet we were faced with the fact that many people are still afraid of even trying hemp-related products. We set ourselves several goals to reach, one of them being very clear and open about our work and goods. Every day we go to the infinity and beyond answering people’s questions and inquiries, solving problems and helping them feel better tomorrow than they felt yesterday. Besides selling wellbeing products to customers worldwide, we want to educate and allow them to unlock the true potential hidden in nature and one of the most amazing plants there is – hemp.

Fighting Plastic Pollution - Save the Planet with Homemade Remedies

Various islands are just the perfect spot for a relaxing holiday spent lying on sandy beaches and drinking cocktails under a palm tree. However, that is not always the case. One specific island in the northern Pacific Ocean covers an estimated surface area of 1.6 million square kilometres. Being three times the size of France, this island seems gigantic, and you now probably begin to think, why you have never heard of this island before… Well, it is technically not an island and is officially called Great Pacific Garbage Patch. As the name states, this artificial island is made out of millions of tons of plastic and other marine debris floating at the water's surface, harming aquatic fauna and flora.

Plastic packaging makes up most plastic waste found all around the world; however, most of the packaging can only be used once, so after having their job done, they go straight to the trash bin. This situation may seem fine considering how many people recycle their trash, yet the problem here is that sometimes it is just not possible to recycle some plastic waste. This group includes dirty plastic rubbish, various containers, and here the largest is played by personal and house care products. Bottled shampoos, conditioners, shower gels, washing liquids and other products are only needed as long as there is still some product left in the bottle. After that, we throw away the bottle and replace the product with the new one continuing this process for our entire lives. Thanks to each of us, millions of tonnes of non-biodegradable plastic rubbish end up in landfills and water during those decades.

This consumer habit is being tackled in various ways, and we have seen quite a few zero waste stores opening recently (we talked about zero waste several weeks ago). Still, they alone do not solve the problem. It is our responsibility to change habits – that is why today we invite you to make your own cosmetics, personal and home care products which fight plastic pollution! Made by one’s own hands, these products are all-natural, so they are much safer to use every day – you will not need to worry about products damaging your skin and flaring up allergies. Let’s roll up our sleeves and make natural products for a healthier tomorrow and cleaner future!

Face Mask Heaven - Cucumber and Lemon

Various face masks play a necessary part in our everyday skincare routine. However, the more product we are willing to use and buy, the more plastic trash we accumulate. Therefore, making your organic detoxicating mask at home once a week is a great way to help yourself by helping the planet in the first place.

Peel and crush one decent size cucumber into a puree, add five drops of lemon juice, and stir in one tablespoon of natural honey. Lastly, add several drops of essential oil of your choice (we prefer lavender) and mix until liquified. After preparation, pour the substance into a jar and store it in the fridge. Use within 4-5 days and mix well before each application! Apply the mask onto a clean face avoiding the eye area, leave the mask on for 15-20 minutes and gently remove it using a wet cloth.

While it is a relatively easy homemade skincare recipe to make, mask’s ingredients have many powerful properties, all of which we can pack into one excellent organic and natural product. While cucumbers reduce swelling, puffiness and soothe irritation, lemon juice contains Vitamin C, which may reduce skin damage and has high pH levels, known to decrease skin’s oiliness. Honey is an excellent moisturizer and exfoliator, so all of those ingredients together make a mask we all swear by!

Gorgeous Hair Secret – Shea Butter and Coconut Oil

Shiny and long hair is possibly everyone’s dream to have, yet it is complicated and requires a lot of time to maintain that salon look. Besides, one has to buy a handful of different products to ensure their hair look fabulously, and this, of course, adds up to plenty of plastic waste. Due to this reason, there is no better way to tackle plastic waste than making a nice hair strengthening cream yourself!

Put a cup of shea butter into a bowl, add a little bit of coconut oil, hemp seed oil, and castor oil to the bowl so these three ingredients would make 1/8 of a cup. Carefully blend everything and pour the mixture into a jar and wait a bit for it to solidify. As you can use this amazing cream to both your hair and body, it may not long very last, so do not worry when the cream jar empties.

Quickly being one of our favourites, this cream gorgeously takes care of the hair by strengthening it and adding moisture. Shea butter is known for its non-greasy qualities, while coconut oil helps slow down the hair loss process. Hemp oil is perfect at its job of stimulating hair growth, and castor oil nourish the dry scalp. Mixing up all of these ingredients together, you can create a powerful hair-loving product right in your kitchen!

Breathtaking Smile Magic – Sage, Baking Soda, and Salt

Our smile is often considered our business card or nicest jewellery one can have, but sometimes it feels like a blinding white smile if something only the Hollywood elite can afford. Well, trips to the dentist are often led by huge bills, therefore, stopping people from taking care of their teeth. On the other hand, quality teeth care usually depends on our lifestyle and the products we use. However, the latter adds up to much unnecessary plastic waste, which we can also minimize using homemade teeth care products – toothpaste and mouthwash.

Mix a handful of sage leaves with a teaspoon of salt in around 100 ml of boiling water. Wait for the mixture to cool off and swish it in your mouth as you would usually do with regular, store-bought mouthwash. Another recipe everyone should try is grinding one teaspoon of salt, two teaspoons of baking soda, one tablespoon of powdered orange peel, and two teaspoons of dried sage together. You can, of course, add a little bit of peppermint essential oil to achieve that pleasant fresh smell usual toothpaste has, but bear in mind that you will need to add a few drops of water to the mixture to achieve the same or similar texture.

While homemade toothpaste and mouthwash are remarkable for their eco-friendliness, there are several other upsides to making these products on your own. First of all, one can control the ingredients and customize the texture, flavour, and abrasiveness. Still, most importantly, one majorly reduces their plastic consumption and cut costs on the shopping bills. However, we advise you to check with your dentist before making and using homemade teeth care products as some recipes may not fit your needs.

Sparkling Clean Shine – Vinegar and Rosemary

One’s home is one’s castle, which needs to be defended from wrongdoers and various germs and bacteria. Wanting to keep our house clean and smelling fresh, we use many chemical products, which, while doing their job, are far from being natural and sometimes are the complete opposite of a pleasant smell. Besides, most chemicals come in plastic packaging, which cannot be recycled due to the products’ nature. To kill those germs and also fight plastic pollution, we invite you to make an all-natural, all-purpose cleaner spray, which would soon become your favourite!

Combine one part of white vinegar with one part water into a spray bottle, add several lemon rinds and rosemary springs. Once you are done with the preparation process, let the mixture infuse for at least a week before using it for the first time to clean your home.

This cleaner will quickly solve many different problems around the house and clean those nasty water stains, various smudges, and much more – you will be thankful for our advice! However, do not use this acidic cleaner around granite surfaces as the cleaner may etch the natural stone – you’ve been warned!

--

Making organic homemade remedies and cosmetics has never been easier; besides, by caring for yourself, you also take care of the planet by reducing plastic pollution and eliminating single-use plastics from the market. On the other hand, we know how difficult it is sometimes to spare some time to make those natural products in the first place. In this case, of course, you will continue buying shampoos, conditioners, creams and other products in various shops or online.

Due to this reason, you should consider doing a little research before making a decision and choosing sellers or brands which take care of the planet for you. Look for natural products, have not been tested on animals and are vegan; choose products whose packaging states using recycled materials. We also care for the planet and advocate for organic, eco-friendly cosmetics – try out our Rich Cream, Silk Balm or Cooling Gel and feel nature’s powers!

Become an Expert - Your Handy Guide to Cannabinoids

Bend one finger for each time someone said to you that no one is born to be an expert. Well, while you may run out of fingers counting, we should admit those sayings a complete truth. No one is born knowing every piece of information; therefore, we have to work tirelessly to learn new concepts and use the knowledge to advance our surroundings further and improve the quality of life. However, no matter how hard we would be learning, there still are many things we would not be able to master everything.

While on the one hand, we are stopped by a lack of time, the other thing stopping us is fear and mostly ignorance. We can assure these two things do not help anyone become any wiser and just set us back, making us miss many great – no, incredible – opportunities. Our whole team at Biomedicanna can agree that one of the most exciting things that happened to us is joining people passionate about hemp and wellness. As we now can call ourselves some experts in the field of CBD Oil, CBG Paste and Cosmetics, every day, we receive many inquiries regarding what those three letters – CBD or CBG – mean…

Today is the day you will become an expert yourself! As much as we love our jobs, one of the most lovable parts about it is educating others about the benefits of the products we offer. We have prepared a handy guide of the most commonly used abbreviations you can use whenever facing uncertainty!

Cannabichromene (CBC) is a cannabinoid found in the cannabis plant. Deriving from the CBGa same as THC and CBD, CBC is more similar to CBD due to its non-intoxicating properties and potential medical effects. Working well with other cannabinoids and well working alone, CBC remains in the bloodstream for longer and is thought to be very effective in fighting cancer cells. Besides, CBC has excellent anti-inflammatory and painkilling abilities together with antidepressant properties. However, this compound is still relatively new and requires more research to describe its therapeutic powers fully.

Cannabichromenic acid (CBCA) is an acidic cannabinoid found in cannabis and hemp plants. CBCA is also a chemical precursor to CBC, but the previous component derives from CBGa, the mother compound. CBCA and CBC have different therapeutic properties, and as CBC forms in cannabis plants even before flowering begins, CBCA, similar to other acidic cannabinoids, is extracted by juicing raw plants. CBDA is a non-intoxicating cannabinoid, which medical researches and experiments show compounds beneficial abilities to relieve pain and minimise various inflammations.

Cannabicyclol (CBL) is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in cannabis. Discovered in 1964, CBL is still relatively new and unresearched as it appears in minimal amounts, making it harder to understand compounds’ beneficial properties. However, scientists managed to get familiar with the CBL molecule’s structure which they say is similar to CBD; this also means CBL cannot deliver the effect of being high. On the other hand, there is one thing differentiating CBL from other compounds – its nature. While other compounds are found in early-to-mid stages of a plant’s life, CBL is created as a by-product of storing cannabis for more extended periods – as another compound, CBC, is exposed to light, it degrades and turns into CBL.

Cannabidiolic acid (CBDa) is an acidic cannabinoid found in cannabis and hemp. CBD is less known as the previous acts as a mother compound for the latter – as CBDa is heated and exposed to various light sources, it converts to CBD, and even though these two compounds are close, they do break down when used in different ways. While CBD is the most popular in oil drops, CBDa’s consumption methods are more uncommon. CBDa usually comes in the forms of topicals or tinctures, and some people even juice young plant leaves to enhance the effects of relieving inflammation and reduced pain.

Cannabidivarin (CBDV) is a non-intoxicating cannabinoid found in cannabis plants with lower THC levels. Being relatively new, CBDV has not yet been thoroughly researched. However, experiments have shown CBDV to have similar properties as CBD – they both reduce the severity and frequency of seizures, relieves nausea, and fight inflammation. CBDV has also shown effective in treating Crohn’s, HIV/AIDS. Considered as an alternative remedy, CBDV is used in tests regarding various neurodevelopmental conditions, including Autism spectrum disorder (ASD), yet researches are far from finished.

Cannabidivarinic acid (CBDVa) is a minor cannabinoid found in cannabis plants. Being an acidic version of CBDV, it does not have any psychoactive properties. Like other acidic cannabinoids, one of the best ways to benefit from CBDVa is to juice the raw cannabis plant, but the level of this component varies depending on plants’ growth place and type. As mentioned, CBDVa beneficial properties are much like CBDA – the list includes anti-inflammatory abilities, potential to reduce seizures and prevent vomiting and nausea, therefore, giving relief to epileptic individuals and chemotherapy patients.

More explained abbreviations after a photo-- keep scrolling!

Cannabigerol (CBG) is a cannabinoid obtained mainly from young cannabis plants as they contain higher amounts of the compound than fully grown plants. CBG is also found in smaller quantities than CBD or THC, which makes CBG products more expensive. Compounds beneficial properties are valued all across, and farmers now try to meet the demand of CBG by crossbreeding and genetically mutating different types of the cannabis plant. Like CBD, CBG products and especially CBG paste is widely used to help various patients deal with the pain without experiencing any intoxicating effects and fight cancerous cells.

Cannabigerolic acid (CBGa) is one of a bunch of acidic components found in the cannabis plant. For years researchers viewed CBGa as a minor cannabinoid, but only recently academicians started to call it the mother of all cannabinoids. Being a foundational compound of a cannabis plant, CBGa is a precursor to THCa, CBDa, CBCa, and of course, CBG. CBGa helps the plant to thrive by triggering natural leaf pruning to direct as much energy as possible towards the growing flower. While this property is fascinating, there is little information about CBGa’s application to human health. Still, as far as research is going, the results show CBGa preventing cancer cell growth and antibacterial and anti-inflammatory abilities.

Cannabinol (CBN) is one of many minor compounds found in older batches of cannabis. The longer cannabis is held unused, the more THC component ages; during this process, psychoactive cannabinoid THC breaks down to CBN, which lacks psychoactive abilities and is usually non-psychoactive or have mild-psychoactivity levels. Even though there is a minimal number of researches conducted regarding CBN effects on the human body, several studies present the compound’s antibacterial and painkilling properties and talk about it reducing intraocular pressure, therefore, possibly reducing the risk of glaucoma. While there are many different misconceptions about various cannabinoids, CBN is wrongly thought to have super-sedative abilities; however, there has not been much research on such effects making researchers refrain from such saying.

Tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (THCA) is a non-psychoactive form of THC found in undried cannabis plants. As the plant dries, THCA decays and converts to THC. Due to this and THCA acidness, it is popular to juice cannabis to take advantage of THCA. Despite little research regarding the compound’s beneficial abilities, preliminary research suggests THCA having anti-inflammatory, anti-proliferative, anti-emetic, and neuroprotective properties. Therefore, soon THCA can be used to treat digestive disorders, chronic pain, epilepsy, etc.

Tetrahydrocannabivarin (THCV) is a psychoactive compound found in cannabis plants. Mostly known for its properties of stimulation and euphoria, THCV is also known to relieve stress and reduce panic and anxiety attacks. While THCV’s molecular structure is similar to THC’s, the previous has a different array of medical effects – it acts as an appetite suppressant rather than enhancing hungriness. As THCV effects have been little studied, various research shows positive results in treating osteoporosis, helping with diabetes and Alzheimer’s disease – THCV promotes bone cell growth, may regulate blood sugar levels, and improve motor control.

Tetrahydrocannabivarin acid (THCVa) is a mother cannabinoid to THCV, produced by exposing the cannabis plant to heat or light. Despite this molecular connection and assumed potential of relieving Alzheimer’s symptoms, THCVa is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid, so researchers focus more on its therapeutical properties. Even though THCVa lacks research, like most of the cannabinoids, this component is thought to have similar anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving abilities. As mentioned previously, THCVa is usually acquired through juicing raw cannabis plants.

Now you know what each of these tricky abbreviations mean – just do not be afraid to use them, and of course, let us know if you still have questions!

There's Nothing More Natural than Easter - and Tastier!

What is greener and warmer than Christmas but equally joyful and lovely? Of course – it’s Easter! For some people, Easter is just another weekend in the middle of the Spring season, while for others, it is a long-time celebration of rebirth and hope. With its roots hiding very far in the past, the modern-day Easter holiday is just as colourful as many of its symbols. Today we will flip through the pages of Easter’s history to reveal some interesting facts about its original celebration, unity with nature and Earth, and increasing trends. Let’s Spring festivities begin!

Do Traditional Approach Still Works?

One would not be mistaken when speaking about Easter from a religious point of view – the celebration takes place in more than ninety countries worldwide! As described by Britannica’s credible authors, Easter is a principal festival of the Christian church, which celebrates the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Despite two millennia passed since its earliest recorded observance, the tradition to celebrate on the 16th day of the first full moon of Spring lives on. Due to moon cycles, Easter’s exact date varies from March 22nd to April 25th, but agreements to make this date fixed never received much support. This year, we will celebrate Easter on April 4th. Some believers will only do so about two weeks later—this is another strange thing as some Christianity branches use different calendars (more on this in our Christmas blog).

In Unity with Nature

Even though a paragraph earlier we spoke about Easter deriving from faith and religion, some are more willing to accept celebrations roots reaching even further back in history; thus, continuing to debate the Easter’s linguistic origins. There is an approach recognizing Easter as a pagan festival with close ties to celebrating Spring equinox, which marks the arrival of astronomical spring in the Northern Hemisphere; surprisingly – people from Southern Hemisphere still celebrate Easter despite living in a middle of autumn! This year, Spring equinox fell on the same day – March 20th – as Earth Day. Since thousands of years ago, people mapped their life according to nature’s patterns; therefore, the day when the amount of darkness and daylight is identical made a pretty huge impact and allowed renewal.

Most Easter symbols are indeed related to nature. We sure all know the Easter bunny as a friendly fictional character who scatters around colourful painted eggs for little kids to find. As childish as it may seem, rabbits and hares get involved in the whole Easter thing due to being the symbol of fertility – Spring is the starting season of sowing crops and vegetables, so including rabbits into the mix does make sense. Similarly, the egg is one of the most well-known Easter symbols – its nature is commonly used to explain resurrection and return to life. You may now ask why these eggs were decorated as colouring seem to cover up their natural character? Well, the answer is quite simple as bold colours are easier to notice when the hunt begins and, of course, the metaphor of life is colourful.

Is it Still About Easter?

Easter and its symbols have been inseparable from one another for more than a few hundred years now. Little did people back then knew that one day their ideas and traditions would bring fortunes to sellers and businesses all around the world! Easter now as, any other national or international holiday, is commercialised and thematically put on every little piece of food or garment to sell it and make a profit from what once was a natural and pure celebration. From a marketing perspective, anything with Easter symbols sells very quickly, leaving only a handful of items to put on sale after the holiday ends. As we once talked about putting more effort into gifting and choosing more natural, hand-made presents, we often receive cute greeting cards complemented by edible bunnies or chocolate eggs – well, demand gives birth to supply.

While Easter chocolates are tasty, there are many ways to come back to our roots and highlight Easter’s original symbolic purpose – rebirth. Today we will share with you one fantastic recipe to bake in preparation for Easter with the hope of achieving a unique therapeutic effect and taking the stress off your shoulders – the recipe is so easy! Besides, we cannot maintain close physical contact with people we love this year again; we responsible picked out the recipe, which is perfect for baking treats, packing, and sending them for our family and friends to try.

Biomedicanna’s team wishes you a lovely Easter! Stay safe!

Time to Put the Coldness Aside - Back to Nature!

Spring is by far the most exciting season for all of us working at Biomedicanna. After strongly finishing with the most stressful Christmas period, we spent some time cosily hibernating at our homes and getting to know every centimetre of our sofas. With the winter already behind our backs, we are back in the business with more bright ideas than ever before. As we dedicated the month of March to help everyone experience the rebirth of nature, today we will share our thoughts and tips on making yourself best friends with nature once again after spending what seems like an eternity inside, both willingly and following worldwide health requirements.

--

With the last bits of snow finally melting away, the spring comes bringing out new adventures and outdoor activities, which we’ve been dreaming to try and experience for the whole winter season. Spring and the return to nature may seem like a usual and yearly practice, but we seem to forget the essentials during the rest of the year. Year after year, thousands, if not millions of people from all across the planet, face numerous mischiefs and not-so-positive surprises carefully planned and masterfully executed by Mother nature as they leave their homes to spend more time in the fresh air.

However, it is long known that any fresh-air activities increase our brain functions and, therefore, we feel so inspired and energetic, more motivated and full of new ideas. As there are more advantages than disadvantages of spending time outdoors, we just have to be prepared for what is throw at us once we face the spring for the first time this year. Hold on tight as today we will present you four spring-associated negative unexpectedness and how our products can help you hack it!

Insect bites. Even though the summer is when the highest insect activity is recorded, that does not mean bugs will be patiently waiting. With the first rays of spring sunshine, bugs crawl out from the tiniest cracks to annoy us for one more season. We soon will witness bug bites' most common symptoms, such as swollen bumps, itchiness, inflammation, and pain. Although smalls bites may not look like a huge problem, insects carry various diseases, which can irreversibly change people's lives. Ticks can pose a significant risk for humans and our pets as these insects have such diseases as Lyme disease, paralysis, anaplasmosis, etc. While mosquitoes also carry various viruses, only several species found in Europe or the USA can do that.

One of the easiest ways to prevent bug bites is to plan fresh-air activities accordingly. Many cities and towns use various repellents to keep insects and ticks out from public parks and squares, but if we decide to spend time in woods or exploring natural grasslands, it is up to us to the proper protection and gear. First of all, ask for professionals to help when choosing the right insect repellent as they all are not equally effective. Secondly, wear long sleeve shirts and layer your clothing to limit the naked skin's surface as much as possible. Suppose bugs have already bitten you, use an ice pack to reduce swelling and pain or, better, keep the bottle of our CBD Cooling Gel within an arm's reach. In that case, this product miraculously relieves inflammation and provides a cooling effect to minimise itchiness.

NOTE. If a tick has bitten you, go to the nearest hospital to have it safely removed. If you have already removed it yourself, keep the tick in a glass container to carry out research and learn whether or not the tick carries out any life-threatening diseases.

Bruises. Spring is the official time for getting back on our back and our feet leaving the cosy sofas alone. As we had spent a significant period safely tucked in our homes, our bodies have forgotten what active leisure means. Therefore, as we come out to spend more time in nature, our muscles are tenser, which leads to almost double the number of casual trips and falls. Everyone knows that before getting involved in any activity, one must warm up the muscles and prepare them for the increased workload. The opposite, of course, also causes numerous bruises, muscle and joint pain, which will quickly ruin the happy spring spirit.

Bruising is the process when the impacts break capillaries just under our skin’s surface. Quickly blood starts leaking out and forms a mark, which changes colour from almost black to slightly yellow before disappearing. It is relatively easy to prevent bruising, yet we can only minimise it rather than eliminate it in a split of a second. To have a bruise as small in size as possible, once we had an impact, we must cool the blood vessels to reduce the swelling and significantly shorten the amount of time the bruise needs to heal completely. While an ice pack might be convenient in such situations, not everyone carries it on casual trips to nature. We strongly advise you to make a bit of space on your backpack or purse and have our CBD Cooling Gel with you wherever you go.

NOTE. In cases when the impact has been too strong, and the blood comes gushing out of the wound, apply pressure and try to stop the bleeding. Then, go to the nearest emergency room or hospital to have a professional look at your injury and provide you with the necessary treatment and medicine, rehabilitation.

Allergies. Spring marks new beginnings, and one of them is the beginning of allergy season. We have already covered the topic of summer allergies in one of our previous blogs; however, spring allergies are a completely different sphere to discuss. Various allergic reactions are our bodies’ immune system dealing with harmless substances that found their ways of getting into our bodies. Most of the time, such substances are harmless, for example, dust, mould, pollen, etc. However, our immune system perceives the so-called invaders as harmful and start producing antibodies to attack the allergens. The most annoying thing about allergies is that one may experience it as a tedious and frustrating process of sneezing, runny nose, and sometimes higher body temperature. In contrast, others may experience no side effects of spending spring in fresh air when plants release pollen.

As pollen can travel great distances with just a tiny gush of a spring breeze, the only place we are safe from it is indoors. However, with proper preparation, we can enjoy fresh air and nature without fear of getting an allergic reaction. Firstly, allergy is something only a professional doctor can diagnose, so no one should try to heal themselves from itchy eyes and nose, sneezing or coughing, as these are also the symptoms for many other health emergencies. Secondly, certain medications are a huge help for people with various allergies, yet they can only ease the symptoms and not get rid of the problem itself. On the other hand, the stronger one’s immune system is, the easier and quicker for him or her to produce the antibodies and fight the allergens. Therefore, our CBD Oils Drops Raw (5%) is a perfect product to increase one’s overall wellbeing and have a robust immune system.

Skin problems. Our skin reacts to the tiniest minor changes, so our skin is quite natural to respond to massive seasonal change – harsh winter weather gives up its place for pleasant spring breezes and warmer temperatures. While it is nice to finally spend more extended periods in fresh air without the risk of freezing, our skin has a different opinion. There are at least three problems that our precious skin has to deal with once we step into the new season. Firstly, it is acne breakouts caused by rising temperatures and excessive sweating. Secondly, it is contact dermatitis, but we should not discuss it any further as it is closely related to allergies. Another skin condition is seasonal eczema, which is also caused by seasonal changes – warmer temperatures, fungi, humidity changes, sweat, etc. Besides, spring sunshine can also lead to specific skin problems, but we will discuss this topic in our blogs next month – be patient!

Even though all skin conditions we presented are pretty severe, some of their treatment methods are very simple. For example, a proper skincare routine, including moisturizers, facewashes, serums or masks, can significantly improve one’s skin condition. It depends on the exact skin type, whether specific products will help your skin feel fresher or not. We have an organic and vegan cosmetics line, which connects ecological practices with high-end products. CBD Glide Gel provides much-needed moisture without being sticky and, together with glycerine, gently pampers the skin. On the other hand, CBD Silk Balm nurtures the skin with quality elements, reduces itchiness, and protects the most vulnerable skin layers.

Less Is More - Welcome Minimalism into Your Life

Many different changes are continually taking place in nature every single day. Here at Biomedicanna, we believe that people are only a part of this unique system, so we must respect all the natural processes around us and change our lives accordingly, with the goal of not to interfere but to adapt. As we are stepping into spring, we dedicated an entire month of March to highlight the importance of preserving the most precious things and dropping off unnecessary and excess practices. Today we will share our insights on making specific changes both at home and in your lifestyle and focusing only on those things that are really worth it.

--

We consider spring a perfect time for changes – as nature is waking up, we also have to wake up after three long months of winter laziness. However, this does not mean a simple getting out of bed in the morning; emotionally, waking up means making necessary and healthy changes. Some of the things that require the most changing and renewing are our homes after the winter, yet we are certainly not talking about layers upon layers of dust or those nasty cobwebs hanging in the corner. There are vast amounts of unnecessary things in our homes that used to cost us a lot of money and now are just hindering our lives. After all, it is very challenging to say goodbye to them, donate them, sell them, or generally get rid of them.

Nevertheless, these positive changes are necessary, and it is better to make them sooner than later as minimal life is much healthier. Minimalism is a lifestyle that frees us from clothes, appliances or goods which make us feel depressed and emotionally drained rather than joyful. Although minimalism has become more and more popular lately, a much more critical philosophy lies behind this trend – how can giving up things help us feel the fullness of life?

Minimalism - Passion, Mission, or else?

For quite a long time, Minimalism was known as an art, music and architecture style that opposed abstract expressionism and promoted objective, logical, and schematic solutions. Clean lines, geometrical shapes and repeating patterns all moved the focus from work itself to the environment in which it gets positioned, played, or demonstrated. Soon enough minimalism was thought about as modernism as the majority of minimalistic art creations were made out of such materials as concrete, glass, metal, etc. Minimalistic movement gradually grew into the worldwide notion that less is more and throughout the years it, of course, crushed all of the borders and dominated more areas than just visual and performing arts.

Fashion was one of the first areas to which the minimalistic virus spread. Designers soon started to position fabrics and forms over the functionality (these scales later shifted significantly) and create clothing using only monochromatic tones: black, white, grey. Massive social and political changes accompanied the fashion industry’s shift from an overload of accessories to simplifying everything that gets on the runway or in high-street shops. While we are not going to focus on different perceptions of minimalism in fashion, we definitely must highlight its influence on widely acceptable social practices. With growing consumerism and massive amounts of trash and non-recyclable materials accumulating each day, minimalism has also become a way of life destined to have as little belongings as possible and discover many more noble things.

Minimalism - Emotional Attachments and Decluttering

Minimalism from one perspective may seem like complete nonsense, yet from the other, it is a way to help the planet while at the same time helping ourselves. Being generally described as a way to find freedom, the minimalistic approach suggests people live with as little belongings as possible because it allows them to live in a more spacious environment directly and figuratively. Minimalists refuse to own any excess stuff and choose to invest in themselves and their families, friends by creating precious memories rather than holding onto meaningless possessions.

Nevertheless, this lifestyle does not mean disowning everything or being altruistic - minimalists advocate for a simple but not dull environment. You can still have some necessary belongings, yet you should be willing to get rid of things you have not been using for more extended periods. As nowadays we can rent almost anything for as long as we need, the whole idea of owning those things and paying full prices is just silly.

Many people, not only minimalists, know that personal possessions often cost us tremendous headaches and other problems. Our belongings trap us in a vicious circle of indecision, and the more we own, the more helpless we are. The truth is that unnecessary things clutter both our living space and mind, making us worry and overthink as we cannot think straight about organizing them in real life and our minds. Things around us distract us from everyday tasks and, of course, from quality self-care, making us more prone to depression and other mental illnesses.

Getting rid of everything we have to carry on our shoulders will increase our happiness and free our time, but this process is complicated even for professional psychologists. We are struggling to say goodbye to our belongings as we have individual relationships with them. We emotionally attach to things that we link with emotions and experiences when we should either carry those emotions in our hearts and thoughts or get rid of them at all. It takes a lot of time and courage to cut the chains connecting us to our possessions, but in a longer perspective, it is worth it.

Minimalism - a Mental Shield from Acquiring Too Much

Minimalism is both a way of thinking and a way of like, because in both cases, we detach ourselves from the unnecessary and leave only those who are worth it and enrich our lives. Yet, we would not have so many things if we did not acquire them in one way or another. Many people still think it is appropriate to bring bulky household items or useless souvenirs as gifts - such pieces will only accumulate dust and use space, but their value is little to none. It is quite hard to say goodbye to gifts from our family members, friends or colleagues as we mentally link such items with the love we get and fear to lose these connections while getting rid of things we neither use nor need. In such situations, we must live as an example as we start gifting others our attention, positive emotions and experiences rather than useless stuff.

Next, we can buy such unnecessary items ourselves. While we are digging the hole and cluttering our lives, it is much easier to come out of the mentioned situation when compared with getting rid of gifted items. We tend to buy things impulsively without thinking about whether we need them or not. After such shopping sprees, we quickly start to regret purchasing something, yet we stall from returning or regifting items as we link them with our labour efforts to earn money in the first place. Secondly, we start to think we may need such things in the future, so it is better to be safe than sorry and have them despite not knowing exactly when we will use them if we are going to use them.

Minimalism is an approach condemning consumerism, which is fed to humanity every day through different channels. Various marketing strategies get into our heads and make us think we need each and everything we see in stores or online. However, there are several ways to shield ourselves from acquiring too much stuff, which would eventually complicate our lives. Firstly, we have to shop responsibly and quit making impulsive decisions. Therefore, you should think before buying any more expensive item at least for a week before making a purchase; a week is usually enough to rethink our priorities and make some changes to our shopping lists. If you still feel a great desire and need for a specific product after a week, you should make a purchase, yet if you do not have those feelings, you should leave the item sitting on a shelf in a shop. Secondly, have a monthly or weekly budget and do not dare to go over it! As we shop to mask our emotions, we should wait until we have our emotions and feelings under control to avoid impulsive shopping and unnecessary belongings in our home.

Minimalism - a Way to Say Goodbye and Improve

Not acquiring useless things or trying to do so is one thing and getting rid of them is another. Minimalism, however, takes care of both and highlights the importance of saying goodbye to things you will not need from now on to the future in a very focused and respectful way. You may have seen some videos where influencers share their experiences after rummaging through their belongings and choosing what to keep, sell or donate, and get rid of completely. Even if it may sound like a minimalistic approach, we still are left with plenty of stuff that will not bring any value. It is encouraging to donate particular possessions before paving a way to a landfill for them. It allows us to live more sustainably and eco-friendly; selling things before getting rid of them helps owners gather funds to invest in experiences and emotions worth more than silverware or clothing.

The minimalistic approach to getting rid of new things is to own as less as possible but still meet your needs. One of the best ways to limit yourself to a certain number of belongings is to gather them all into one place as if you were packing and moving out, and throughout a week, only take what you need leaving unnecessary items in a pile. After a week or one and a half, take all that you have not used and get rid of them – sell, donate, or generally get rid of it if their condition does not allow them to be used for one or another. You will be surprised by how little items you are regularly using versus how many just take up space without doing anything useful. Remember, you should not limit yourself to a hundred or fifty belongings just because professional minimalists do so – start by making small steps to achieve significant results both emotionally and physically.

Minimalistic approach frees us from unnecessary items which haunt us every day – be brave to say goodbye to them once and for all. Carefully plan and rethink your priorities to live more happily and healthier. Mental freedom is just as important as decluttering your physical environment, yet the first is sometimes harder to achieve.
