Meet our CEO - The Highest Quality for Everyone

We receive many questions every day, some of them can be answered in just one word, and others take time to write a detailed and accurate answer. As a growing business, we value both our team and our clients' time. With our work and products, we strive for as many people as possible to lead a healthy life and have a chance to enjoy it. For this reason, we have dedicated an entire month of May to introduce our sustainability and hemp-loving community to Biomedicanna, our products, and the team whose heart is CEO Rokas. As he states, the word Biomedicanna fits the highest quality for anyone determined to enjoy it to the fullest.

Preparing for summer requires a lot of effort and time, so with the team, we joke that it is never enough to implement all our plans and goals in 24 hours of a day. The CEO of any company is no doubt one of the busiest people in the team. We met with Rokas for a quick online chat, and now we share his thoughts with you.

-Rokas, can you tell us how you came up with the idea to create Biomedicanna?

-The history and beginning of Biomedicanna are pretty simple. We were a group of several friends, one of us worked closely with patients with various health problems for whom our products were making life easier. However, we worked as wholesalers, so we considered other companies to be our partners and not people themselves. As time went by, more and more people contacted us interested in our products – they approached us directly asking for various hemp products. We then created Biomedicanna to make life easier for both those people and ourselves because until then, we were shipping products from our own office, which took even more time. The page acted as access for anyone to buy hemp products on their own using discounts we send them at a better price than anywhere else on the market; this is still one of our top priorities.

-I believe that the switch from being wholesalers to retailers was not that easy, was it?

-We started Biomedicanna with a clear goal, which we had to reach relying on our investments, so there, of course, were difficulties. One of the major obstacles was that the fundamental things we needed to launch the business were quite expensive for our pockets. Programming, copywriting, descriptions, photos and everything else other companies buy from experienced service providers and pay a lot of money were simply too expensive. We then hired our friends because we could pay them when we had free money; we often gave them products instead of payments. Also, we were only a few initially, so we multitasked a lot to find fulfilment centres, packaging and storage providers. All this would have been faster and better if we had more hands in the team and time; therefore, the very first launch took us about half a year.

-What about partnerships? Were you struggling with that as well?

-I will be frank, what we are doing other people still find strange and incomprehensible. To survive, we need to educate people as much as possible and provide them with quality information. In this case, working in the wholesale market was a little easier when comparing those jobs to retail, yet, now those partnerships are more tied to the work that needs to be done, as it allows us to strive and look for better solutions constantly. The partnerships were both better and worse, but basically, we can say that their quality depends on the time you put into building them – how much you invest is equal to how much you get back. The better the quality, the more pleasant it is to share your work with others.

-What then are the most outstanding achievement of Biomedicanna?

-The most prominent win I'd like to name was our ability to launch a business in the first place because we faced a lot of obstacles with payment processing companies. We wanted the period from the customer's order to the receiving it to be as quick as possible, so they will not have to wait until we physically receive the payment, approve it, and ship the products. It turns out that both the most significant setback and the biggest win were the process of making Biomedicanna happen. Everything else is additional processes that we do every day – all tasks are small achievements.

-Do you think about things you would now do differently?

-Oh, a lot of things now we would do differently. Processes, priorities, platforms, maybe all of our communication would be completely different… I would have done many things differently based on our team's experience, but it is crucial to think and do those things differently to improve. The launching process was a good lesson not only for us but also for our customers as during that time we received a lot of feedback on products, where and when we could do things better. Most of our clients are people who need our help and hemp. It makes you stretch and succeed.

-What would be the future of Biomedicanna? What are plans already in your mind?

-Indeed, there are two main things on which all of our plans revolve. The first thing is to maintain the same or even achieve higher products quality. It is not difficult to keep it – we apply already tested processes and use the same raw materials. However, we are always looking for ways to improve the products and think about what new types of hemp we can have to have access to even more cannabinoids and make all of our products full spectrum. Maybe we can somehow purify the substances differently, maybe use different and more convenient packaging?

The other thing is to strive to reduce the prices of products in the shortest possible time so that as many customers can afford and use them to feel the benefits themselves. I genuinely think that the cost of the products is still too high, although it has already decreased from the initial point. Hence, the optimization of various processes is essential and is already in progress.

-Cheers!

Meet our Brand - Unique Approach to Healthier Living

Over a year ago, we started a brand you know now. Since then, we have successfully expanded our team from several people and have become an international company. Uniting many different souls, we all share a passion for a healthier life. We are more than excited to be brought together a large community of people who admire and value nature and hemp powers and want to lead a more sustainable lifestyle. We dedicated the entire month of May to introduce you to our brand, the products, and the team which drives Biomedicanna and the love for hemp wellness forward. Today we will tell you all about our unique and nature-friendly approaches to cosmetics and other goods.

--

Those who have with us all along, and those who have joined this fantastic community recently, should have noticed that we often repeat certain phrases on our blog and social media. We are dependent on nature, so its suffering also affects our quality of life. We are constantly looking for ways to help nature and ourselves; therefore, we emphasize sustainability, environmental friendliness, natural and organic materials and products that meet only the highest standards.

Being honest, you have probably heard these words from many different businesses; however, we cannot be compared to others. In our 50th blog, we will look at the five most important aspects and features of Biomedicanna that set us apart and beyond other brands.

Only the Best

One of the several reasons we started this company was that we were not satisfied with the quality of similar goods. As individuals, who want to live healthier, we paid a lot of our attention to what we were putting in our bodies and skin. If you decide to closely read at least some of the labels of beauty and wellbeing products you own and use every day, you probably would be surprised about the number of strange ingredients and various additives found there. Besides, the origin of most of the ingredients was unclear.

Since day one, we promised ourselves to provide customers only with products made from materials grown in certified farms following responsible practices. Using the best seeds, monitoring their growth and applying the most innovative methods, we have achieved outstanding results, yet we always strive for even higher levels of perfection. Having already invested a lot of our resources into research, we seek to improve the quality of manufacturing processes and products. The highest quality is our top priority making thousands of people all over the world healthier and happier while at the same time working tirelessly to offer them products we would not be afraid to use and recommend.

Responsibility to Life

Being a relatively young company does not stop us from seeing how human-made objects and processes change the appearance of nature. With billions of tons of unrecyclable waste dumped in landfills, and products and practices themselves hurting the living world, every little step towards the goal of a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable living counts. Every year we experience more and more negative changes; therefore, we must minimize them and return the environment and climate to their former state.

We started the brand already knowing how vital sustainable practices would be in our journey of introducing society to the benefits of hemp. Today, we are the company for which this goal has become one of their main driving forces. Eco-friendly ideas are inseparable both from the company’s activities and our individual lives, and for this reason, we all feel a deep connection with our surroundings. Starting with tiny steps, we now make a substantial positive impact on the environment. We dared to resist the standard practices and adopt more responsible approaches despite being less popular. We have a strong opinion about veganism and animal cruelty; thus, we dedicated our work to live in synergy with flora and fauna and defend those who cannot protect themselves.

The Mission to Care for All

We all probably noticed how many products everyone has to consume to take proper care of ourselves, both internally and externally. On the one hand, the number of products shows how seriously we take our health and well-being. Still, from a different perspective, such everyday habits result in even bigger amounts of waste polluting our planet. Considering how many various chemicals are put into each little bottle of personal and home care products, we all should be appalled by what we put into our bodies and what later enters the drinking waters and soil. Besides, even more harmful substances get released into the air whilst manufacturing the mentioned care products.

Once forced by society to take care of themselves by any means possible, more and more people nowadays turn to nature and choose products that are friendly not only to man but also to the planet. After experiencing the same problems, we knew we had to be more innovative and tackle them differently. We set ourselves the goal of combining nature and man in one product, which we achieved by offering customers products made especially for this reason. Now we see, there is no better way to immerse ourselves into harmony than maintaining high standards and using the most precious materials, and carefully monitoring the manufacturing process. Keeping up with modern technologies and seeing the actual value of organic resources helps us deliver products that unite both nature and man.

Powerful Equals Raw

We each want only the best for ourselves and our loved ones, but sometimes, the worst things hide behind an innocent appearance. If we look more closely at every little thing we consume, we would be surprised by the number of processing it takes for that thing even to become consumable. Most of the time, it means we are consuming hurtful substances and unnecessary additives, which make us even more sick, unhealthy, and do not benefit our physical and emotional wellbeing.

From the very beginning, we knew our community would deserve the best, and we saw only one way to achieve – by introducing thousands of people to the hemp. Yet, some introductions cannot be comparable to one another. Therefore, we manufacture and sell only the purest and most potent products, which convey the power of hemp and its beneficial properties. Maybe hemp power is not that tasty as one may expect, but we are proud to bring out its two best features – raw and realness. With many more new product ideas in our minds, we know we would never leave the mentioned aspect behind our backs.

Giving Answers

Before discovering the hemp, we many times felt like we just hit the wall. We are now surprised at how little information was available a decade or several years ago regarding hemp, its components, their properties, and let’s not start talking about growing or manufacturing processes. What now to us feels like a piece of obvious information is still very unfamiliar to thousands of people, and we all probably know what the ‘unknown’ brings. It triggers our fear, and we surround ourselves with stereotypes, which resist us from experiencing never felt before senses.

We stepped into the market with higher quality products offering them at affordable prices, yet we were faced with the fact that many people are still afraid of even trying hemp-related products. We set ourselves several goals to reach, one of them being very clear and open about our work and goods. Every day we go to the infinity and beyond answering people’s questions and inquiries, solving problems and helping them feel better tomorrow than they felt yesterday. Besides selling wellbeing products to customers worldwide, we want to educate and allow them to unlock the true potential hidden in nature and one of the most amazing plants there is – hemp.

Newest Trend – Sustainable Fashion!

After a challenging summer, real fashion icons have returned to the cities to conquer its streets and hearts of passers-by: they wear eye-catching accessories and never miss the latest fashion trends. They not afraid to visit second-hand clothing shops and to wide open the closets of mothers and grandmas. The secret of their success and wonderful appearance does not depend on the widest smiles or salon-like hair: their real talent is a sense of style and ability to match unmatchable clothing items together. Modern fashion icons care not only about the breathtaking image but also about the environment: as 13 million tons of textile waste is dumped in landfills every year, sustainable fashion is becoming the major highlight of any clothing combination.

What’s wrong with fast fashion?

Fast fashion is a term used to describe fashion retailers capturing current fashion trends and filling clothing stores with fashionable items similar to the ones seen at Fashion Week. Even if it allows people from all around the world to quickly adopt their wardrobes to fit ongoing trends, fast fashion has more cons rather than pros.

The current fashion industry is built on several different collections presented throughout the year, and millions of people buying at least one new item every season. The sales increase several times a year when prices are chopped massively to empty shopping racks for new items. As low prices lure customers, they are also forced to come back to the same clothing shopping centres over and over again due to fast fashion items also being fast to wear out and rip apart.

For this, you may say thank you to fashion retailers who only care about lowering the manufacturing cost and increasing revenue. This goal is achieved in several ways: firstly, fashion companies use cheaper textiles and sewing materials; secondly, they pay suppliers very small amounts of money for the materials received. Here fast fashion’s problems do not end: the majority of retailers sew their clothes in Asian countries – in factories where children work long hours and get only pennies.

Fast fashion is dependent on acquiring materials as cheaply as possible. As it can take as much as 2 700 litres of water to produce enough cotton material to make a single t-shirt, retailers often choose fake versions of expensive textiles and suppliers, which are known for using harmful chemicals. Of course, some well-known high street fashion shops offer their customers items made from eco-friendly materials and manufactured responsibly. However, these kinds of items are more expensive, from special collections only, and they make up only a small part of all clothes.

Fashion sustainability and us

Sustainable fashion is a social movement encouraging both customers and retailers to transform their habits and businesses towards a greater goal – ecological integrity and environmental awareness. Even though the term sustainable fashion itself concerns clothing as such, it actually has two meanings, including responsible use of already existing clothing items to prevent them from being dumped in landfills and sustainable production of new things to conserve nature and natural resources.

Responsible wearing does not mean being extremely careful not to ruin your clothes with dirt. It stands for choosing second-handed items rather than buying new ones and giving up beloved but not fitting or boring things by handing them over to new people rather than dumping them. Considering the fact that fashion trends come around once every few decades, second-hand clothing shops are a real gold mine, where vigilant buyers may find a designer or never worn items for extremely low prices. There are a few innovative ways allowing customers easier to transfer, donate, or sell their clothing items, which are still in a good shape. Responsible fashion not only saves money but also reduces one’s carbon footprint.

When old clothing items are too worn out and no longer suitable for wearing, some types of materials can be recycled back into clothing fibres, thus, being returned back into stores as new clothing items. As it saves resources, there are plenty of ways and materials, which can be used to produce more sustainable, society, and nature-friendly clothes.

Hemp clothing is conquering the industry of sustainable fashion as it requires little water to grow and is resistant to most pests and diseases. Hemp’s advantages do not end here as other parts of the hemp plant also have a use; for example, seeds are often processed into oil and praised for its health increasing abilities. Hemp material itself is not only sustainable and versatile but durable and long-lasting; clothes are comfortable to wear, do not cause allergic reactions to the touching skin, and are easily washable.

Why being sustainable is the new black?

With each year, the number of sustainable clothes in stores increases prompting the growing demand: knowing that high fashion houses are fashion trendsetters, they welcome and adapt the sustainability approach influencing high street retailers and people to do the same.

Most popular brands advocate not only for inclusivity and ethnic diversity but also for high fashion sustainability as Paris, Milan, and New York fashion weeks’ catwalks are driven by themes of consumerism, ecology, and global warming. For example, one American fashion designer ensures the sustainability of her clothes by keeper her production small – the physical journey from sketch to garment does not exceed 20 kilometres radius. Other designers ensure they use responsibly sourced and recycled materials, create small runs of each collection to fight against fast fashion, or hires locals to help with the manufacturing process and reduces unemployment. Soon from catwalks, sustainable fashion ideas reach our homes and wardrobes: we gladly buy items that do not harm our planet and contribute to nature’s preservation. Of course, selling such clothes adds up to the brand’s reliability and popularity - as every little help matters, sustainability becomes more and more fashionable.

As a sustainable approach encourages consumers to say that ‘less is more’, capsule wardrobes are the number one thing any person should be doing to actually live by those words; this method allows people to wear different styles by combining basic clothing items. Such an approach should not mean wearing only boring and earthy-colours as sustainable fashion includes using natural dyes and improving the overall look by putting on long-lasting accessories. Also, responsible clothing does not mean wearing thin fabrics processed as little as possible - technologies let manufacturers create thicker fabrics suitable for colder climates, hemp material being one of them.

Sustainable thinking takes over our thoughts and lives – as it saves the planet, it also saves us. We must reduce the amount of textile being dumped, reuse still wearable items, and recycle one’s that are not suitable for wearing. As the popularity of hemp clothing is only growing, it is nice to be your own trendsetter and choose responsibly – we will soon offer quality hemp clothing to suit your body and your needs, so be patient and friendly to nature!

Hemp - The Mother Plant

You probably know that CBD is cannabinoid found in the magical hemp plant. But did you know about all the other fantastic uses of hemp worldwide?

To start, hemp is one of the most useful plants in the whole world. It’s greatly sustainable and can be used to make so many things, it’s truly incredible!

Just to name a few, hemp can be used to build your home, feed your family, dress you in the finest attire, hold your notes, change the worlds plastic problem and even fuel your car!

Hempcrete - the future of housing construction

You may not be able to make an entire house out of hemp, but the great thing is that hemp is quick-growing, requires few pesticides or fertilisers, and the process of turning the harvested hemp into building materials like hempcrete is simple and environment-friendly.

Hemp seeds - small but very versatile

Hemp seeds are rich in protein, omega-3, E and B vitamins, magnesium, potassium and iron. The seeds can be consumed raw or cold pressed to produce hemp seed oil and protein. Hemp seed protein can be used to produce virtually any product made from soybean: tofu, veggie burgers, butter, cheese, salad oils, ice cream, milk, etc. It’s a true superfood!

Hemp textile - the future of sustainable fashion

Despite making up less than 1% of all textile products, hemp is a good source of fabric. Why? Hemp fabric is anti-microbial, has a high tensile strength, breathes better than cotton, and gets softer with age. In order to grow enough cotton to make just one T-shirt, you would need 720 gallons of water. Hemp requires half as much.

Hemp paper - protector of trees

On an annual basis, 1 acre of hemp will produce as much paper as 2 to 4 acres of trees. It also can be produced much quicker as hemp only requires around 120 days to grow. From tissue paper to cardboard, all types of paper products can be produced from hemp.  This makes the raw material super sustainable and eco-friendly!

Hemp plastic - a must for a sustainable future

When made with biodegradable polymers, hemp plastic is completely biodegradable, unlike regular plastics. Compared to petroleum-based plastics, hemp plastic doesn’t contain any toxic substances and is 3.5 times stronger and 5 times stiffer. As a result, hemp plastics are more safe and durable.

Hemp bio-fuel - keeping the ozone clean

Non-toxic bio-diesel is produced by the pressing of hemp seeds to extract their oils & fats. After the extraction, the product is then put through more steps to make it into a usable hemp bio-fuel for your car. Hemp seed oil can also be used as a lubricative, oily ingredient in the processes to produce paint, varnish, detergent or ink. Because hemp seeds account for up to half the weight of a mature hemp plant, hemp seed is a viable source for these products.

No other natural resource offers the potential of hemp. Cannabis Hemp is capable of producing significant quantities of vital every day materials in a much more sustainable fashion. Unlike other crops, hemp can grow in most climates and on most farmland throughout the world with moderate water and fertilizer requirements, few pesticides, and no herbicides.

Hemp is truly the future.
