Self-love is what will empower you and help you heal. It’s the key to having a healthy body, a peaceful mind and a fulfilled soul.
Self-care is crucial in loving yourself. To really be loving to yourself and the world around you, you have to start taking care of yourself first.
As they say, you can’t pour from an empty cup, right?
So today we are talking about self care – for your mind, body & soul.
Your body is your safe space – take care of it
Keeping your body healthy is one of the most beautiful forms of self care. When you wake up feeling great you can do so much more for yourself and others, imagine your day feeling energized, yet at peace, your head doesn’t hurt, your stomach is comfy, your mind is calm and happy, you’re feeling motivated and simply enjoying all the daily tasks.
Feeling healthy and comfortable in your body might just make this all possible.
Here are some ideas what you can do to take care of your body:
- Go for a daily walk
- Stretch your body, even if it’s for just a few minutes
- Stay hydrated throughout the day
- Meditate, or simply sit down, enjoy a cup of warm drink while looking out the window, just have a quiet, peaceful moment, think of what you’re grateful for
- Remember to do your health check up
- Start your mornings with a glass of warm lemon water
- Find a form of movement that you can do daily
- Eat food that nourishes your body and makes you feel good
- Practice mindful breathing
Learn about gut health
Why gut health exactly? Well, if your gut isn’t happy, your body isn’t either, and neither is your mind, even anxiety and depression can be linked to it.
A healthy gut on the other hand, contains healthy bacteria and immune cells that ward off infectious agents like bacteria, viruses and fungi. A healthy gut also communicates with the brain through nerves and hormones, which helps maintain general health and well-being.
Take care of your mind
Practice gratitude, the more grateful you are, the more miracles you’ll attract. It’s not just about manifesting, it’s all about being thankful for waking up, for your breakfast, people in your life, your puppy, a sunny day…
When it comes to gratitude you can practice it by simply thanking for everything throughout the day, but if you feel like you need a little push, or want to dive deeper, one of great ways is to start journaling, simply start a journal where you write 5 things you’re grateful for today. Make that a ritual when you wake up or before bed. You will notice how wonderful it is to wake up and go to sleep with a heart and mind full of gratitude.
Have phone free mornings, instead meditate, stretch, massage your belly, take some mindful breaths, have a glass of water, it can be anything really, just let yourself be with your own mind for a little while.
If you ever want to go an extra mile, try social media detox for one day a week, and you might just like it a lot.
Do you ever tolerate something that is draining you? Say yes to a gathering you don’t even like going to?
Love yourself enough to set boundaries, with yourself and with others, ask yourself what really lifts you up and what drains you, then decide according to that.
Not everyone needs access to you, remember that. Your energy is currency, so spend it wisely
To nourish your soul
Observe the sky, watch the sunrise, sunset, gaze at the stars.
Take a nap while it’s raining.
Spend time outside, connect to nature, walk on the grass with bare feet.
Do what makes you laugh from all your heart.
